Silverstone, September 13, 2026 : Team Qatar claimed victory in the LMGT3 class at the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone, the fifth round of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), moving to the top of the championship standings with one round remaining.
The Qatar squad, competing in partnership with Iron Lynx, featured drivers Abdullah Al Khalifa, Julien Hanses, and Ralf Aron. The trio produced a consistent and competitive performance throughout the four-hour endurance race to secure first place.
The team, supported by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation, had already made a strong start to the weekend when Abdullah Al Khalifa secured pole position in the LMGT3 category during qualifying with a time of 2:00.011. It marked his third LMGT3 pole position of the season.
Starting the race from the front of the grid in the No. 62 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3, Team Qatar maintained its pace throughout the contest and held its position at the front to secure its first victory of the 2026 ELMS season.
Heading into the Silverstone round, Team Qatar was third in the LMGT3 championship with 47 points, six points behind the leaders. The race victory, together with the additional championship point earned for pole position, took the team to 73 points and the top of the standings.
The result puts Team Qatar in a strong position to challenge for the LMGT3 championship title heading into the final round of the season.
The sixth and final ELMS round is scheduled for October 10 at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal.
